Disaster Relief, Emergency Fund

Location: Global

Start a Fundraising campaign

When disaster strikes on or near one of Camino Global's fields, a gift to the Camino Emergency Fund will enable Camino's offices and missionaries to respond with help for those in need, especially for pastors and church members, but also for communities affected by storms, floods, or other catastrophes.

Your gift to this critical fund will help bring tangible assistance to families impacted by disasters. Funds will go to meet their pressing needs, enabling recovery that will lead to the ongoing work of outreach and church-planting among Spanish-speakers.

Guatemala Volcano Update:

On June 3, 2018, the "Volcán de Fuego" erupted more forcefully than any eruption in the past several decades. By some accounts, it was the strongest in over a century.

The eruption devastated the town of El Rodeo and severely impacted other towns such as Las Lajas, San Miguel Los Lotes, and La Reunión. Falling ash reached as far as the capital, Guatemala City, forcing the closure of the International Airport for a time. Dozens of deaths are reported, many are still missing, and hundreds are evacuated and homeless.

News about the eruption: English | Spanish

Camino missionaries are all well and accounted for, and are uniquely positioned to channel help via local churches that are mobilizing with relief supplies and other practical forms of help. Financial gifts will be used to support the relief efforts of our missionaries and their network of local churches in and surrouding Guatemala City.
