Grand Opening of the International Office of Global Ministries

Camino Global took an historic step forward in globalization on Tuesday, July 21. In Guatemala City, friends of Camino and Camino missionaries gathered for the official grand opening of the International Office of Global Ministries, located in Guatemala City.

Vice President of Global Ministries, David Ruiz, welcomed attendees, commemorating this historic event in the life of the mission. As Camino's vision for global mobilization and global reach continues to be realized, the International Office in Guatemala City opens new doors for recruitment of Latin-American missionaries.

"This is an actualization of the mission to serve the needs of the church in a more effective way — not only in Guatemala, or in Latin America, but also in any place where the Spanish-speaking church exists," said Ruiz in his address.

To close the ceremony, three prayers of dedication were offered up — the first by the president of the Evangelical Alliance of Guatemala; the second by Helen Ekstrom, a Camino missionary who has served in Guatemala for over 60 years; the third by Steve Sywulka, Camino's field facilitator in Guatemala.

The International Office of Global Ministries exists to facilitate the church in Latin America by aiding them in recruitment, training, and pastoral care.
