God Moving in Guatemalan Communities
In Guatemala City, the Lord has been working in the hearts of many people. Gary and Esperanza Williams are both Camino Global missionaries in Guatemala. They have faithfully served with Camino Global for many years. Gary teaches, trains, disciples, and equips students through theological education at the Central American Theological Seminary (SETECA). Esperanza leads weekly Bible studies and disciples women in Guatemala City. Together, they pray for the people whose lives they are a part of and desire for the Lord to work through and with them.
This summer, the people of Guatemala have gone through a lot, yet faith in Christ has continued to grow in various cities in Guatemala. Many people were affected by the volcanic eruption in June and are still recovering. Nonetheless, the Lord has been transforming lives each day through the natural disaster and through other Christians. In one city, in particular, the Lord has been moving and using Gary and Esperanza as instruments in His plan. This past May, Esperanza felt the calling to begin a bible study in a large community in Guatemala City. The Lord rapidly grew it in size. As a result, the group decided to multiply by forming two groups in order to foster intentional community and discipleship. One group meets on Tuesdays and another meets on Thursdays.
Through this bible study, two people have come to know Christ and desire to get baptized, another person wants to dedicate her child to the Lord, and a couple with four kids are contemplating getting married. Many of the people that have been attending this Bible study are also now attending Gary and Esperanza's church. The Lord cares for His people and has continued to show His faithfulness throughout. He has a plan and a purpose for everything. Pray for the Lord to glorify Himself and to transform people through Gary and Esperanza's ministries.
