Harriet helped her husband, Jim, plant and develop the Iglesia Hispana Nueva Vida. When the Lord called Jim home to Himself in March of 2012, Harriet continued serving the Lord in the church plant. Her focus is in the women and children's ministries, with a special emphasis on mentoring women who are in teaching and leadership positions.

Discipling women

Jim and Harriet Bouchillon began their missionary career with Camino Global in 1972. Following language school, they assisted in the planting and developing of a local church in Logrono, Spain, from 1974 through 1977.

In 1978 they moved to Puebla, Mexico, where Jim was a member of the faculty and staff of the Puebla Bible Seminary. Their ministry moved them to Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico in 1984, where together they reestablished the struggling Fresno Bible Church in Guadalajara.

In 1990 the Bouchillons became part of the Hispanic USA field, serving in the city of El Cajon in San Diego County. There they developed a thriving church plant, and Jim taught seminary classes in Spanish. Jim and Harriet had begun another church plant in Santee, CA, when the Lord called Jim into His Presence in March of 2012. Harriet continues to oversees the women's and children's ministries.

Harriet is mother to three adult children: Suzanne (McElderry), Steve, and Phil.
