Sergio and Miriam have served in church planting in Spain with Camino Global since 1985.

Miriam taught the Bible at the public school in Santander for 16 years. Sergio has a Bible teaching ministry in Bible Institutes, Bible conferences, and youth camps besides the church planting ministry.

Starting a Church and Teaching the Word

Sergio was born in Guatemala City in a Catholic home in 1951. He came to know the Lord through the ministry of Paul and Ruth Philippi, Camino Global missionaries in Guatemala. Sergio served in four different Church planting efforts in Guatemala and Antigua, Guatemala until 1979.

Miriam was born in an evangelical family in Monterrey, Mexico, in 1952. In 1975, she applied and was accepted by Wycliffe Bible Translators. She moved to Guatemala to get Bible training at CATS in Guatemala City where she met Sergio and they were married in 1978.

Sergio and Miriam worked in church planting in Guatemala, then, moved to Chimaltenango, Guatemala, where Sergio taught the Word until 1982. A year later, they decided to go to Spain as missionaries with Camino Global. They arrived in Bilbao in 1985 and moved to Santander to start a church a year later. Since 2004, Sergio and Miriam have lived in Nestares, near Reinosa, fifty miles from Santander and combine the ministry there with the start of a church in Reinosa.
